Bala Cumaresan
Chief Executive Officer
Bala founded Siharum Advisors, LLC and currently serves as its Chief Executive Officer. He has over fifteen years of asset allocation, manager selection and portfolio construction experience. Prior to founding the firm, Bala was the Chief Investment Officer and member of the Board of Directors at Federal Street Advisors, Inc., where he advised individuals and foundations with investable assets ranging from $20 to $500 million. From 1995 through 2000, Bala worked at Kobren Insight Management as an Analyst and later was promoted as the firm's Director of Research. Prior to that, he worked at Aeltus Investment Management, Inc. as a Quantitative Analyst.
Born in Sri Lanka, Bala received his BS in Engineering from Bharathiyar University in Coimbatore, India and his MBA from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT. Bala holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and he is a member of the Boston Security Analyst Society and the Boston Estate Planning Council. Bala serves as co-chair of the Investment Committee at the Meadowbrook School in Weston, MA. He is also a charter member of TiE Boston. Bala, his wife and their daughter currently reside in Sudbury, Massachusetts.
